A vibrant dance homage to poet, artist and musician Leonard Cohen, “Dance Me/Leonard Cohen” is a new and exclusive dance program from BJM that will deliver its world premiere in Montreal from December 5 - 9 followed by the Toronto premiere on December 15. Inspired by Cohen’s inimitable music, and using a selection of his most beloved songs, stage director Eric Jean and renowned choreographers Andonis Foniadakis, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Ihsan Rustem create a spectacular new video conception work commissioned especially by BJM.

The classic charm and pageantry of The Nutcracker hits the stage in Toronto for its 10th annual performance. This year will be featuring guest artists from the world-renowned Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet, principal dancers Vyacheslav Lopatin and Anastasia Stashkevich.Based on the classical version of the Nutcracker, which is performed by the world’s top ballet companies. Artistic Director Tatiana Stepanova has retained the ballet’s traditional beauty, enhancing it with her innovative vision and unique choreography.

Iranian-born Seyyed Hamed Mahmoodzadeh, known as Hamed Homayoun, started music lessons at an early age, and quickly mastered the guitar and piano. A dedicated musician, he continued his musical instruction throughout university and after graduation taught guitar and piano at various institutions and music academies in Shiraz for eight years. An introduction to a small broadcasting company in Shiraz led to a record deal with major label “Taraneh Sharghi”.
